MORROW, Ohio (AP) - Authorities continue searching for a man who fled police and jumped into a southwest Ohio river after being spotted in the yard of a home where firefighters were extinguishing a blaze Friday night.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports (https://cin.ci/1Ty1M5x) that the search for the 27-year-old man continued on Sunday around the Little Miami River about 35 miles northeast of Cincinnati. A lieutenant with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office says that without evidence the man is dead that authorities will continue with a search-and-rescue mission. Authorities lowered water levels at a dam on Saturday to slow the current and aid the search.

Lt. John Faine says the man is a “person of interest” in connection with the fire. Authorities have used boats, a helicopter and police dogs during the search.
