ABINGDON, Va. (AP) - The Virginia State Police says two people were injured when a tractor-trailer struck a car in Washington County.

State Police say it happened around 4:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Route 19 and Route 633. State Police say the driver of a Honda Civic pulled in front of a tractor-trailer and that the truck hit the Honda.

State Police say the truck overturned and the cab caught fire and the Honda struck a tree. State police say the 17-year-old driver of the Honda and the 60-year-old driver of the truck, who is from North Carolina, were taken to the hospital. State Police say both were being treated for serious injuries.

State Police says the cause of the crash remains under investigation and that charges are pending.
