ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Officials in Albany are investigating after three black female college students say a group of white men and women harassed them aboard a city bus.

University at Albany President Robert Jones says the women described 10 to 12 white men and women using racial slurs during the attack.

A spokesman for the Albany Police Department says officers responded to a report of an assault at about 1:20 a.m. Saturday outside a dorm.

Officer Steven Smith says one of the women was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries. He says the two others denied medical attention at the scene.

Smith says investigators are looking into whether a hate crime was committed.

There have been no arrests.
