TUSCUMBIA, Ala. (AP) - A judge sentenced a former Alabama youth minister to 15 months in prison after the man pleaded guilty to a sex crime involving a one-time member of his church group.

Kyle Adcock, who worked at Woodward Avenue Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals, also must register as a sex offender and avoid contact with the victim.

The TimesDaily (https://bit.ly/1QO6VYT ) reports that the victim addressed Adcock in court on Friday, telling him he no longer has control over her.

The young woman is 20 now, but she was 14 when the crime occurred.

Adcock was arrested in August 2014 after moving to Frisco, Texas. He was indicted on 12 counts of first-degree rape, nine counts of second-degree sodomy and eight counts of second-degree rape.

Adcock was set for trial on Monday.
