OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - U.S. Marshals have captured a Mississippi Department of Corrections inmate who was under house arrest but he removed his electronic monitoring equipment.

WTVA-TV (https://bit.ly/20yPMF0 ) reports 36-year-old Stephen L. Dukes was apprehended Friday evening in Water Valley.

Dukes had been under house arrest after being convicted in 2015 for sale of a controlled substance in Lafayette County.

New Albany Police Department and Yalobusha County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the arrest.

Dukes will be transported to Yalobusha County Jail and then to Parchman for disciplinary action.
