SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Mitchell Badillo made four 3-pointers and scored 19 points to help Incarnate Word beat Nicholls State 68-61 on Saturday.

Incarnate Word did not make a field goal for the final six minutes of the first half and trailed 33-30. But the Cardinals opened the second on an 8-0 run after back-to-back 3-pointers by Badillo and Sam Burmeister.

Nicholls State pulled within four with 3:46 left, but Burmeister answered with a 3-pointer and the Cardinals led by at least five the rest of the way.

Kyle Hittle added 12 points and Shawn Johnson had 10 for Incarnate Word (10-8, 5-2 Southland), which rebounded from an overtime loss to McNeese State to win its fifth game in its last six.

Liam Thomas and T.J. Carpenter each scored 17 points for Nicholls State (5-17, 1-7). Thomas added nine rebounds and a career high-tying six blocks for the Colonels, who have lost six games in a row.
