DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - The Iowa Court of Appeals has upheld the conviction of a Davenport man for the kidnapping and rape of a woman in 2013.

The Quad-City Times reports (https://bit.ly/1Q1xvsv ) that the appeals court upheld 32-year-old Nathan Ronnau’s conviction on Thursday. Ronnau was convicted in March 2014 in Scott County District Court of first-degree kidnapping, first-degree sexual abuse and willful injury causing serious injury. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Prosecutors say Ronnau attacked a 32-year-old woman from behind on a Davenport street in July 2013, choking her into unconsciousness and dragging her to a wooded area, where he raped and beat her.
