DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A Boone man has been arrested, accused of improperly billing Des Moines Water Works.

The Des Moines Register reports (https://dmreg.co/1Q1u1Gq ) that 54-year-old Jeffrey Harold Burma was arrested Thursday and has been charged with ongoing criminal conduct.

Burma is owner of BioSolids Management Group, which had been contracted by the water utility for various duties, including trucking operations at a water treatment plant in Polk County.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office investigated complaints and determined that Burma had submitted false billing records to Des Moines Water Works in March and April for more than $100,000.

Court records show Burma is free on bond. A call to Burma’s home Saturday rang unanswered.
