NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A Philadelphia man has pleaded not guilty in the shooting deaths of two men killed in a suburban apartment building last year.

The (Pottstown) Mercury (https://bit.ly/1UxDTf5 ) reports that 24-year-old Obrian Lewis was arraigned Friday in Montgomery County Court on charges of first-, second- and third-degree murder.

Prosecutors allege that he killed 26-year-old Marcel Edwards and 26-year-old Quentin Watson Jr. on Nov. 4 in Norristown because he was in a jealous rage over a woman that both he and one of the victims had dated.

Lewis said earlier that he acted in self-defense. A Norristown police officer testified that Lewis told him at the complex that “I was just attacked and I shot them.”

Prosecutors also announced at Friday’s hearing that they will not be seeking the death penalty.
