LISBON, Portugal (AP) - Substitute Fredy Montero scored a late goal for Sporting Lisbon to beat Academica 3-2 on Saturday, ensuring it kept the Portuguese league lead for another round.

Sporting moved five points clear of second-place Benfica before the defending champions visit Moreirense on Sunday.

Sporting got goals from Adrien Silva and Bryan Ruiz to cancel out Rafa Soares’ opener.

Academica’s Ricardo Nascimiento made it 2-2 n hour in, but the visitors lost Aderlan Silva to a second booking before Montero scored Sporting’s third goal with six to play.

Third-place FC Porto provisionally pulled level on points with Benfica after beating Estoril 3-1.

Porto responded to Estoril’s third-minute opener with goals from Vincent Aboubakar and Danilo Pereira before halftime, while Andre Andre sealed the result with eight to play.
