OGDEN, Utah (AP) - An Ogden man suspected in multiple armed robberies has been arrested.

The Standard-Examiner in Ogden reports (https://bit.ly/1ZZWiCA) that police arrested 52-year-old Dion Ryan Mata around 9 a.m. on Friday near 29th Street and Wall Avenue.

Weber County Sheriff’s Lt. Lane Findlay says Mata was booked into Weber County Jail.

He is facing counts that include suspicion of aggravated robbery and an outstanding warrant for absconding probation/parole.

Officers located his vehicle at an Ogden motel on Thursday and then initiated a traffic stop the next morning.

They also apprehended his girlfriend, 46-year-old Yolanda Sanchez.

Authorities believe Mata is the main suspect in eight armed robberies going back to Dec. 9.

The robberies included businesses in five other cities.

It was not known if Mata had an attorney.
