LISBON, Portugal (AP) - Jonas scored a brace as Benfica eased to a 4-1 win at Moreirense to stay close to Portuguese league leader Sporting Lisbon on Sunday.

Jonas opened the scoring with a header in the 16th minute and struck again in the second half after Konstantinos Mitroglou doubled the lead. Both of Jonas’ goals were set up by Luis “Pizzi” Afonso.

Nicolas Gaitan polished off the win with 15 minutes to play before Iuri Medeiros got the hosts’ consolation goal in stoppage time.

Benfica remained two points behind Sporting, and three points ahead of third-place FC Porto.

Fourth-place Braga drew 0-0 at Boavista. Nacional beat bottom-side Tondela 3-1, Rio Ave edged Setubal 2-1, and Arouca drew 2-2 with Pacos Ferreira at home.
