RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - Longtime state Sen. Gerald Geis, of Worland, is retiring at the end of the year after serving 35 years.

Geis is a Republican who represents Senate District 20, which includes portions of Big Horn, Fremont, Hot Springs, Park and Washakie counties.

The Ranger in Riverton reports (https://bit.ly/1nCLFKg ) that Geis was elected to the Senate in 1975 where he served as vice president, majority floor leader and then president until 1986. He returned to the Senate in 1993.
