LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police have arrested a man armed with a shotgun who barricaded himself into a downtown hotel for more than six hours.

Sgt. German Hurtado says the standoff at the Union Hotel began early Sunday after the man brandished the weapon during a heated argument with a neighbor.

A SWAT team eventually deployed gas canisters, driving the man out of the room. Hurtado says he was then arrested without incident.

The man has not been named. No injuries were reported.
