COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (AP) - A western Oregon high school student authorities say brought a toy gun to school and made threats has been suspended.

Cottage Grove police tell The Register-Guard (https://bit.ly/201fkII) in a story on Friday that the male student at Cottage Grove High School is not expected to face charges.

Authorities say the school resource officer was told about a student who might be armed and took the boy out of class.

The officer determined the boy had a toy cap gun and school officials suspended him.

Officials say the student remains suspended until it’s determined he’s not a threat.
