COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (AP) - A high school student is suspected of bringing a toy gun to school and making threats.

The Register-Guard reports (https://bit.ly/20AeqVN) he has been suspended and is not being identified by Cottage Grove police.

Authorities are investigating. Police say the boy will be allowed to return to class if it is determined he is not a threat to Cottage Grove High School students and staff.

The boy was taken out of class Friday by a school resource officer who was told a student may be armed. The officer determined the toy was a cap gun.
