LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Chairman Emon Mahony has named a three-person subcommittee to start the search for a new commission director.

Mahony and commissioners Fred Brown and Steve Cook will make recommendations to the remainder of the commission on the process to be followed to replace Director Mike Knoedl.

Knoedl has announced plans to retire in July after serving as director since October 2012 and working for the agency since 1985.

The subcommittee has scheduled its first meeting for Tuesday and will meet via conference call.
