McALESTER, Okla. (AP) - Police in McAlester say a weekend shooting left one man dead, another wounded and a suspect in custody.

Sgt. Chris Morris says 32-year-old Michael Meneley was killed in the Sunday shooting and 32-year-old Damon Williams was wounded. A third man escaped uninjured while police say 41-year-old Sam Nava was arrested for first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Nava said the three men tried to assault him as he sat in his vehicle before he opened fire.

Morris says the shooting apparently stemmed from an argument during a party Saturday night.
