BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Authorities say a 23-year-old Baton Rouge man allegedly bit off part of another man’s ear in a fight over beer money, and threatened to burn down his own apartment complex.

Online records show that Norberto Gonzalez is being held in East Baton Rouge Parish on charges of arson, aggravated domestic assault and second-degree battery, with bond at $75,000.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1NYevwX ) that a man accused Gonzalez of biting off his ear during a fight Friday in Gonzalez’ apartment. A witness said they were arguing about beer money.

According to the arrest report, woman says Gonzales threw a chair at her after she told him he shouldn’t drive, a man says he threatened to burn the complex, and investigators found pieces of burned paper towel on a counter.

It was not clear whether Gonzales had an attorney who could comment.
