ATHENS, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a northern Alabama inmate who walked off his work detail is back in custody.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that 29-year-old Corey Jefferson turned himself in Saturday night after leaving his job earlier that morning.

According to court records, Jefferson was sentenced to 60 days in jail on Dec. 10 after he pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a vehicle.
