NEWARK, Del. (AP) - New Castle County police say one man was critically injured after two people entered his home in Ogletown and shot him.

According to The News Journal of Wilmington (https://delonline.us/1IM1SGp), Cpl. Tom Jackson says officers were called Sunday evening to the residence in the Brookside community to investigate a shooting.

Jackson says officers found an unidentified man in his 20s with a gunshot wound to the lower torso inside the home. Jackson says the man was transported to a nearby hospital. He was considered critical Sunday night.

Jackson says further investigation showed that two people entered the home and shot the man for an unknown reason before fleeing. He says authorities searched the areas for the two intruders, but no one was found.

The shooting remains under investigation.
