PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say a shootout in Philadelphia has left a man dead and two others critically injured.

Police say a 47-year-old man was shot once in the groin and once in the buttocks around 6 p.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Police say a 17-year-old man was also shot in the face and an unknown person was shot in the back of the head. Both have been hospitalized and are listed in critical condition. Police say the unknown person was wearing a bullet-proof vest and had a handgun.

Authorities say 20 shots were fired from two separate weapons - many of which apparently came from an assault rifle.

Detectives are looking into how the three people knew each other.
