BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A Tarrant police officer has been treated and released from a hospital after an altercation with a man who authorities say was inside a stolen vehicle.

Tarrant Police Chief Dennis Reno tells news outlets that the unidentified officer suffered minor injuries Sunday during the altercation.

Police say officers were chasing a vehicle that they believed had been stolen in Birmingham.

Reno says that when the chase came to an end in Birmingham, one man inside the car exited the vehicle with a firearm and an altercation occurred. The man was arrested, while two others who had been inside the vehicle are being sought.
