BADIN, N.C. (AP) - Officials in Stanly County say a 3-year-old boy has died in a house fire in the town of Badin.

WCCB-TV in Charlotte reported that Fire Marshal Michael Roark identified the boy as Ja’zyion Harris. Roark said Jayvion was at home with his parents when the fire broke out around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Neighbors said Ja’zyion, his parents and two siblings had moved into the home just five months ago.

Roark said the boy was found in a bedroom in the rear of the home.

So far, authorities don’t know what caused the fire. Badin police, the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office and the fire marshal’s office are investigating.
