SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) - A bomb scare has led authorities to empty all city buses in San Luis Obispo and conduct a search.

San Luis Obispo police say a man boarded a bus packed with passengers near City Hall around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. In a video taken by a passenger, the man told everyone they shouldn’t ride buses the rest of the week because he has reason to believe a bomb may be onboard one of them.

The man said “this is not a joke” and passed out paper with the same message.

Some passengers in the video ignored him or smiled uncomfortably.

Police say the man got off the bus at California Polytechnic State University, less than 2 miles from where he boarded.

It’s unclear how long the search will take.
