PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Rutgers coach Chris Ash has added two more members to his football staff.

Ash on Wednesday hired Rick Mantz as his director of high school relations and named Nick Quartaro as director of player development.

Quartaro served as head coach at Fordham (1994-97) and at Ash’s alma mater, Drake (1986-88). A placekicker at Iowa from 1974-76, he returns to the Big Ten after working as a defensive assistant and with special teams at Northwestern from 1981-85 and as a graduate assistant at for the Hawkeyes in 1978.

Quartaro spent the last five seasons at North Texas working with receivers and tight ends. He was the associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Kansas from 2002-06. He has also worked at Iowa State and Kansas State.

Mantz spent the previous two seasons as the coach at Passaic High School. Prior to that, he served as coach at South Brunswick High School for four seasons.

A graduate of Hillsborough High School, Mantz compiled an 81-39 record in 12 seasons coaching his alma mater.

Mantz coached former Scarlet Knights Shaun O’Hara (Hillsborough) and Mohamed Sanu (South Brunswick), both of which enjoyed success in the NFL.

Mantz served as a graduate assistant from 1990-91 with the Scarlet Knights, working with the offensive line.
