LAS VEGAS, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico State Police say a Las Vegas man has been arrested for the seventh time on a DWI offense.

They say 52-year-old Arthur Lucero was taken into custody on Dec. 31 after he was found in his vehicle parked on the shoulder of County Road 171 with the keys still in the ignition.

Police say they spoke to Lucero at the scene and detected a heavy odor of alcohol.

They say Lucero told officers he had been drinking and police saw multiple open containers of alcohol inside his vehicle.

Police say Lucero was too intoxicated to conduct sobriety tests.

In a subsequent breath test, they say Lucero’s blood-alcohol level was .30 - nearly four times the legal limit for drivers.

It was unclear Wednesday if Lucero has a lawyer.
