MADISON, S.D. (AP) - The American Red Cross says it’s helping three displaced residents after an apartment building fire in Madison.

Fire Chief Randy Minnaert tells KJAM-AM that the house contains apartments, and the fire broke out Wednesday evening in a main floor apartment. He says it started around the chimney and furnace area, and the heat did more damage than the fire itself.

The Red Cross says two units in the building were affected.

There were no injuries. Firefighters were on scene for about an hour.
