NEW YORK (AP) - Fire officials say a 2-year-old boy was injured when he fell down an elevator shaft inside a Bronx building.

It happened at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at 733 Throggs Neck Boulevard in Throggs Neck.

Witnesses tell NBC New York (bit.ly/1K0WvOA) the toddler was there for a wedding rehearsal.

The boy was taken to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

It wasn’t clear how the boy fell.
