HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A 40-year-old Hartford man has been sentenced to serve 59 years in prison for the 2013 fatal shooting that killed another man in Connecticut’s capital city.

The Hartford Courant reports (https://cour.at/1O6wgKs ) Montrell Brown was sentenced Wednesday in Hartford Superior Court for the July 27, 2013 murder of 30-year-old Edmond Johnson Jr.

Prosecutors say Brown fatally shot Johnson on Albany Avenue just hours after the men fought and Johnson used a box cutter to slash the hand of Brown’s brother Tremain Jackson.

Witnesses testified that Brown and Johnson had an ongoing feud that led to the killing.
