PLANO, Texas (AP) - JP Morgan Chase has decided to move 6,000 workers to a new office campus in Plano.

JP Morgan Chase spokesman Greg Hassell told The Dallas Morning News (https://bit.ly/1JwUOxn ) on Thursday that they’ve signed a letter of intent to build at the Legacy West development. He says construction will start this year.

The company has been scouting Dallas’ northern suburbs for a location to consolidate many of its North Texas operations. The Legacy West development is also home to Toyota and Liberty Mutual Insurance.

Hassell says the 6,000 employees they expect to eventually work at the new campus amounts to “roughly half” of their employee population in the area.

Hassell said says the consolidation in Plano won’t significantly impact the New York-based bank’s workforce in downtown Dallas.
