OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has upheld a life prison sentence of a 58-year-old man convicted of stabbing another man to death.

The court handed down the decision Thursday for Dennis Daney. Daney was convicted by a Tulsa County jury of first-degree murder in the Jan. 25, 2013, stabbing death of 31-year-old Justin Todd at a house in a north Tulsa neighborhood. Jurors sentenced Daney to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Investigators say witnesses saw Daney and Todd together on the front porch of the house. Witnesses then saw Todd stagger off the porch and collapse in the front yard.

Daney is incarcerated at the Lawton Correctional Facility in Lawton. His attorney, Richard Couch, didn’t immediately return a telephone call seeking comment.
