TARRYTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino has unveiled a proposal for a bioscience complex in Valhalla.

Astorino unveiled the plan before a business advocacy group on Thursday morning.

According to The Journal News (https://lohud.us/1Rlvg9p ), Astorino said Fareri Associates was proposing to invest up to $1.2 billion in the complex near the Westchester County Medical Center.

The Westchester Bioscience and Technology Center would also include stores and a 100-room hotel.

Astorino says it would be built on 80 undeveloped acres and create 8,000 permanent jobs and 4,000 constructions jobs.

The county would lease the property to the developer for 99 years. It estimates it would generate $9 million in property taxes.

The lease will go to the county Board of Legislators for approval next week.
