SLIDELL, La. (AP) - Authorities say a Slidell rapper has been sentenced for the 2012 attempted murders of his half-brother and a longtime friend.

Media outlets report a St. Tammany Parish jury found Dondrique Lewis guilty on two counts of attempted second-degree murder in November.

According to the 22nd Judicial District Attorney’s Office, a judge sentenced Lewis Wednesday to 15 years on one of the counts and to 10 years on the other, to be served concurrently.

Authorities say Lewis and Damian Lewis were visiting their sister in Slidell, when gunfire erupted and they ran. Investigators say Dondrique Lewis shot Damian Lewis, walked to a home, and then he shot Andre Jackson.

Both victims survived. The exact motive for the shootings remains unclear.
