HARLAN, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police say the driver of a car that collided with a school bus in eastern Kentucky has died, and three people aboard the bus are injured.

Police said the crash happened Friday morning on U.S. 119 in the Blair community of Harlan County when the northbound car crossed the center line, hitting the southbound bus head on.

The driver of the car, 32-year-old Bridgette Mallory of Lynch, died at the scene. Police said the bus driver, a teacher’s aide and a student were treated at a hospital and released.

A news release from state police said U.S. 119 was closed for several hours after the wreck.
