CHARLOTTTE, N.C. (AP) - Police in Charlotte have arrested two suspects in the shooting death of a man at a gas station last month.

Multiple media outlets reported that a SWAT team arrested the suspects Thursday after a standoff.

Twenty-six-year-old Lakisha Renee Brooks and 43-year-old Raymond Bernard Sherrill are charged with murder in the death of 54-year-old Benny Edward Bennett Jr. Brooks is also charged with possession of a gun by a felon.

Bennett was shot and killed in the parking lot of a gas station Dec. 23.

Investigators identified the suspects and they were located at a home near Interstate 85. Police said Sherrill and Brooks refused to talk with officers and the SWAT team was called.

It was not clear if the suspects have lawyers.
