CARICATURISTS RAISING MONEY FOR ARTIST STABBED AT UNIVERSAL

Glenn Ferguson’s boss says caricature artists plan to hold “Glenn-efits,” or benefits for Ferguson, to help him pay for his medical bills and other expenses. The artists will do caricatures for donations from the public.

JACKSONVILLE ZOO TEMPORARILY CARES FOR ABANDONED BABY OTTER

The 5-day-old otter was found Wednesday by a concerned citizen who took it to a St. Augustine veterinary hospital. Officials say the animal has since been sent to a wildlife rehabilitation facility.

MAN ARRESTED IN 2007 SLAYING OF LEESBURG WOMAN

Police say 61-year-old Kenneth Ray Reed faces a second-degree murder charge in the death of 56-year-old Mayola Houser, who was found dead inside her home in November 2007.

POLICE: WORKER KILLED WHILE LOADING WASHER IN CUSTOMER’S VEHICLE

A Lake County appliance store worker was waiting on the curb outside the store when the customer accidentally hit the gas, reversing the vehicle into the building. The worker was pinned between the car and the building.

MOM’S BOYFRIEND FACES CHARGES IN BOY’S DEATH

The 23-year-old man is accused of aggravated child abuse and felony charges after the boy died on his first birthday. Dwight Tyre III and his 19-year-old girlfriend took the boy to a Lake City hospital on Monday for treatment of injuries that left him unresponsive.
