EXECUTION SET FOR MAN CONVICTED OF JACKSONVILLE MURDERS

Gov. Rick Scott on Friday signed a death warrant for 51-year-old Mark Asay for the murders of Robert Lee Booker and Robert McDowell.

BONDI SAYS SUPPORTING COMPANY BEING INVESTIGATED WAS MISTAKE

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi told The Palm Beach Post in an email Friday that she never should have issued a 2014 letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services supporting the tests performed by Millennium Laboratories. Bondi explained in her email that she believed the letter, drafted by her staff, only supported the general concept of drug testing, not a company that was under federal investigation.

TEEN GUILTY IN FATAL SHOOTING SPREE

Konrad Schafer pleaded guilty Friday to two adult counts of first-degree murder. He faces life in prison at his April 15 sentencing.

FORMER EL SALVADOR MINISTER DEPORTED FROM US FOR ABUSES

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman said Friday former Gen. Jose Guillermo Garcia-Merino was flown on a charter plane from the U.S. to San Salvador, El Salvador. Garcia-Merino was arrested last month in Florida.
