BRAINTREE, Mass. (AP) - Police are investigating after a 30-year-old Randolph man was severely injured when he was stabbed multiple times in an apparent road rage altercation in Braintree.

Authorities say the incident began when the two men were driving in the area near the intersection of Granite Street and Forbes Road late Thursday afternoon.

Police say both motorists exited their cars on Granite Street near North Street and got into a heated argument that ended with the Randolph man being stabbed several times.

The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he is expected to survive.

Witnesses were able to provide police with a description of the vehicle after the attacker fled the scene.

Braintree officers are working with state police to find the suspect.
