BERNARDSVILLE, N.J. (AP) - No one was injured in a fire at a historic restaurant in central New Jersey.

The fire at The Station restaurant and bar in Bernardsville broke out around 3 a.m. Friday.

Firefighters tell News 12 New Jersey (bit.ly/1PNwZko) they found smoke in the ceiling when they entered the structure.

About 20 people living in apartments above the restaurant have been displaced.

The cause is under investigation.

The building was constructed as a hotel 1878 to serve people arriving at the Somerset County town’s train station. It remained a hotel until 1922, when apartments were added and it became a showroom.

It became a bar and restaurant in 2006.
