FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Police have increased patrols in an area where they say two teenagers were found shot to death in Fort Lauderdale.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports (bit.ly/1UB9Sus) there was an increased police presence in the residential neighborhood Thursday.

Fort Lauderdale Police Detective Tracy Figone says they’re implementing a plan to reduce the violent crimes in the area, and secure residents’ safety.

Police say the bodies of 18-year-old Markinson Joseph and 19-year-old David Salomon were discovered Tuesday after police received an anonymous call.

The investigation into the shooting deaths remains ongoing.

Authorities say the bodies were found near the same spot where 67-year-old Robert Regan was discovered killed on Oct. 5, 2015. His killing remains unsolved.

Police haven’t said whether the slayings of Joseph and Salomon are connected to Regan’s killing.
