RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) - The Rawlins City Council is looking for ways to remove geese from a publically owned golf course and to keep deer from roaming the city.

The Rawlins Daily Times reports (https://bit.ly/1K2lbGu ) that on Tuesday the council directed city staff to work with the Wyoming Game and Fish Department to discuss best practices to remove the animals.

The council is considering controlled hunts to remove the geese and urban deer reduction programs.

Warden Teal Joseph on Tuesday said hunts would likely be the most effective and most accepted way to handle the geese, as shaking or oiling eggs can be controversial.

The council did not vote and will further discuss the options in the future.
