MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama-based Shoe Station footwear chain says it has ordered more than 3,000 T-shirts to sell if the University of Alabama defeats Clemson University in the College Football Playoff National Championship next week.

Shoe Station Executive Vice President Brent Barkin tells multiple media outlets that the purchase is a risk, but he is confident that the Crimson Tide will win its fourth title in seven years on Monday.

He says 12 of Shoe Station’s 19 stores will extend their hours to sell the T-shirts if Alabama wins.

If Clemson prevails, Barkin says the company will send the shirts back to the vendor, resulting in lost labor time for Shoe Station and material and printing costs for the vendor.

The family-owned chain also has stores in Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia and Florida.
