PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Game and Fish Department is offering a reward for information in a deer killing.

They say a bow hunter killed a mule buck and left its carcass near a popular recreation area northeast of Mesa.

Department officials say they received information Jan. 1 about the deer that appeared to have been killed with a bow and arrow about a half-mile west of Usery Pass Road near the Salt River and Usery Mountain Park.

The hunter took only the deer’s head and antlers.

Game and Fish officials say it’s illegal to waste deer meat in Arizona.

A reward of up to $750 is available in the case and Game and Fish officials say tipsters can remain anonymous.
