RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) - It’s a dirty job and if you live in Riverside, you get 4,800 chances to do it.

That’s how many storm drains there are in the city and officials are asking residents to help keep them clear and prevent flooding during El Nino rains this winter.

The city has created a website where residents can choose a drain, sign up and sign a liability release. Adopt-a-Drain kits including a vest, gloves and rake are available.
