MINOT, N.D. (AP) - The Ward County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office is closing to the public for a couple of afternoons so staff can catch up from a recent move.

Auditor Devra Smestad says this is one of the busiest times of the year for the office, and the recent move into a new county administration building has added to the demands on staff.

She says some workers have come in as early as 6 a.m. and stayed as late as 7 p.m., and also come in on weekends, but there’s still unpacking and other work to do.

The Minot Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1O5he7H ) that the County Commission approved closing the office to the public at noon on Friday and Monday.
