SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - Police in Sioux Falls say they arrested a 34-year-old man following a nearly five-hour standoff early Saturday after responding to a report that he threatened his roommate with a bow and arrow.

KSFY-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1Rf7AmY ) that the standoff began shortly after 8 p.m. Friday after the roommate called 911. When officers arrived, they met with the victim who had left the home. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, but he refused to leave the home and refused to speak with officers.

The department’s Department Emergency Response Team was called to the home and was eventually able to establish contact with the suspect. He emerged from the home shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday and was arrested on a charge of aggravated domestic assault.

His name was not released.
