GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - Grand Rapids is preparing to celebrate the nation’s birthday with its annual fireworks.

The Amway Family Fireworks is Saturday night at downtown’s Ah-Nab-Awen Park. It’s free and open to the public.

Organizers say this year’s event will include a larger and longer display than in past years. It’s the sixth year of direct-sales giant Amway’s sponsorship of the fireworks.

Other attractions on Saturday include music, family activities, games, food trucks and vendors. Performances are planned by the Air National Guard Band of the Midwest, the Upstage Crew Blues Band, DJ Monica Parker and the band Hey Marco.
