LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 38-year-old man who admitted using sex tapes to extort hush money from an unnamed Las Vegas businessman, and later agreed to keep the victim’s name secret, has been sentenced to just over a year in federal prison.

Ernesto Joshua Ramos had faced the possibility of up to 21 months in prison at sentencing Thursday in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas.

Ramos’ attorney, Gabriel Grasso, sought probation. He called the case unique because all sides agreed not to make the businessman’s name public.

Ramos pleaded guilty in November to seeking $200,000 with threats that included posting photos on social media of his girlfriend having sex with the man in a hotel room outside the U.S.

The woman wasn’t charged.

Judge Gloria Navarro ordered Ramos to surrender to federal authorities Sept. 28.
