PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Rhode Island man has been indicted on charges he crashed his car while he was drunk, killing one of his passengers.
Attorney General Peter Kilmartin says 24-year-old Johnny Sak is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on charges of driving under the influence resulting in death and related crimes stemming from the crash that killed 22-year-old Alexandra Patten Parenteau.
Police say Sak was drunk when he crashed the vehicle into a telephone pole on Dec. 8 in Woonsocket. Sak and three other passengers were treated for serious injuries. Patten Parenteau died at a local hospital.
Sak was indicted by a Providence County grand jury on Friday.
It’s unclear whether Sak has retained a lawyer.
